I do think the board have to be accountable as well. They did a fantastic job of convincing some supporters that it was all John Kears fault. But they appointed a rookie coach to appoint him who didn't exactly set the world alight during his interim period. I can't say I feel that confident they will make a better decision this time around.. but we can live in hope. We've certainly had our fair share of dross despite a reasonable Championship budget to work with.
If there are some bad apples in the squad, they ought to be following MD out the door.
I’m one of the people who thought he should never have got the job. I have no doubt he’s a nice guy and loves the club. But he was out of his depth and needed to go. You say the players have let him down, and I partially agree. But if that’s the case, where were the changes? Being nice gets you nowhere. He unfortunatley didn’t have the tactical nouse to change things for the better. He was a great youth coach so I am sad he’s not continuing in that sort of capacity as he would have been a good asset in that respect.
On paper we have a very good squad (albeit some injuries). The new coach needs to get the best out of them. How long are Holmes and Lawrence out for?
