If true, it looks like Kear is already looking at players for next year. This would be a good thing as I think we can let Smith and the other centre go and bring in one ore two better, quicker backs.
I hear you may have also signed James Green from Cas for next year as well.

JY HITCHCOX could be on his way back to Odsal in the frantic reshuffle before rugby league’s transfer deadline.... The experienced coach will ... be keen to beef up his numbers with possibly a couple of additions before the opportunity disappears.
“It’s a very busy time for agents, for coaches and anybody involved in clubs,” said the Bulls coach. “It seems more hectic this year but I think that’s because of the Leigh situation as well. "
Would be a good addition, really like Jy, but I'd also see a quality centre as more of a priority if we're going to be without Gibson and Smith and we're going shopping, could be some loan opportunities with middle 8 clubs clearing the decks to pick over the Leigh firesale.

I thought he was out injured for the rest of the season but if he’s going to be fit in 3 weeks then get him in. We need a bit of competition on the wing if only for Grant.

Cas have signed Mata'utia and from what I've read they need space on the quota. Hitchcocks injury isn't as bad as first thought and hopefully he's on his way to the Bulls.

Agree a Centre would be priority but suspect hitchcox would go well there in a pinch. Seem to remember he has to play a certain number of games this season to be eligible for a visa next year. So it may be case we have to sign and play him now if we want him for next year.

If we're taking him now then I hope Cas have given us some incentive. We're helping them out taking an injured player off their books just so they can sign Matautia.
