Platt, Sheriffe, Jeffries, Newton and Solomona I definatley agree are dead wood. Platt and Sheriffe would be more suited to the lower leagues. Jeffries is a border line super league standard player and Newton and Solomona are past it eack by a few years.
However I disagree with your choices on Langley and Godwin. Langley's work rate is phenominal and matched by very few in our side, he's got unbelieveable fitness and can carry on working for 80 minutes. Personally, I think he is being used incorrectly. He shouldn't be played down the middle like he has been asked to recently. The edges are where he is best. I think Godwin still has something to offer though, unlike Newton, Godwin can play 80 minutes and he has some quickness around the ruck area, sure his passing isn't spectacular and he isn't a monster in defence, but he's a hard little worker and on performances this and last season I would be selecting him in front of Terry Newton.

. . . do you think it's because his heart isn't in it?
Could that said of some of the others turning in poor performances - regardless of what they may actually be saying in the press???
Perhaps. In fact, I dared to suggest that McNamara had lost the dressing room on another thread. What you are suggesting is a mighty similar suggestion indeed.

Tend to agree with all that, but would add Deacon, Nero, Tadulala and Tupou to the list of dead wood.

You reckon . . . . .
On a personal level, I don't crave the respect of others, nor acceptance, nor do I need to remind other posters of "positive"(?) things that others may have said about me

Newton has increasingly become dead wood in our side, and his performances this season have typified that.
He looks lazy, he's supposedly lost weight in the off-season but he looks even more sluggish. One of our key problems is speed around the ruck, and Newton does not give us that. I don't see any sparks of brilliance I used to from Newton, and his trademark flat-pass is horrific, just causes even more problems.
