"Classic Curry Night" at the Bulls after the Warrington match was unfortunately cancelled due to lack of bookings. Had a phone call from the Bulls office to tell me of the cancellation and asked for my credit card details to refund the payment for 4 people I asked how many bookings had they actually had - and they said "as far as we can see it was just you"

Went to East in Pudsey last night. Was pretty good but a little disappointed by the portion sizes compared to a few other restaurants I've been to. They make up for it with the Naan breads, but they're on the pricey side at £5.50 for a garlic naan.

that's a shame, I was wondering how it was. They probably won't run that again.

I read this and did just that, albeit in reverse order. As I'd not been to either establishment, but had been meaning to go to the Fighting Cock for bloody ages - both were amazing!

Did the FC resemble this photo? With a sad middle aged bloke in a wig propping up the bar, smelling slightly of wee, mumbling into his pint about how Peter Fox & Paul Deacon would never have let them get in this mess?

Gotta say, I couldn't recommend the FC or the Punjab more highly if I tried.
Never had a bad curry in the Punjab (although I've not been since I moved out of Bradford), and I've had many a top Friday lunchtime and leaving do in the FC, as it used to be the pub of choice for our company/department.

Are there any other real ale pubs near the Fighting Cock? I fancy organising a night with the lads I do the rail ale trail with but we like a bit of a pub crawl. Appreciate that might be an issue near Thornton Road
