IF true, and it makes sense with the Nigel Wood / Eric Perez link - then there could be a 'method in the madness' with some sort of 'dual reg' arrangement whereby our fringe players could play games for 'Ottawa' (and I use that term loosely)
It could be a way of Race, Jowitt, O'Hanlon, Ho et al getting some game time
But I'll believe it when I see it
'It makes sense '. FFS!

Ottawa have tonight confirmed they are ‘permanently relocating to the uk’.
Will they revert back to Hemel? Or something else entirely?
I’m not sure of the make up of the proposed Ottawa set up but wouldn’t it be nice if any proposed money men and investors could stick with the game in the UK. Invest in a UK team?
Clearly we are now discussing something different. I’d assumed the original idea was to base Ottawa at Odsal until COVID allowed them to play in Canada.
We are now talking about totally relocating to a new location permanently. Remember they bought the Hemel license, so they can base themselves somewhere and just crack on as if Ottawa never happened.
I assume that means Odsal is off the table as you surely can’t just have another Bradford club playing out of OdsaI? I hope it will be somewhere that expands the footprint of the game, perhaps Bristol or Nottingham.

How about somewhere with a BD postcode but outside of the city? Like Silsden or Bingley out that way? Then people don’t have to travel across the city to watch professional rugby league.

There’s literally nothing out that way sports wise. Not when it comes to rugby league that I can think of. You know out towards Skipton that way.

An Ottawa club permanently based in the UK with Aussie players is not an Ottawa team. It’s a ridiculous concept. If it does happen and as you say expands the footprint of this great game I’d support the ideas of promoting local rivalries. May be a club in Sunderland or Durham to become rivals with Newcastle, or Rotherham or Barnsley to go up against Sheffield or Doncaster. I know these are still Northern clubs but I have always felt that expansion should flow slowly outwards (geographically) from our heartlands over many years (which should have been done 30 years ago) instead of just plonking a club in London, Paris, Scarborough etc. The amateur game is very very popular all over the country which always surprises me that when a club enters championship 1 there isn’t more local support for them.

'Great defence, always wins games, y'only have to score one more point than them. If tha does, tha'll win, if that doesn't tha'll lose, learn from it, more than the win last week.'. Peter Fox, 1980.
