Whilst not so down on Hobbo as some, I thought you worked well with Peter, who has upped his game massively from his early days as a draft-in for Mr Caller. But the most satisfying moment was that back flick by Elliot to set up the last try, the icing on the cake of a brace of tries for himself. Definitely the player of the season, been in form pretty much all the time, made tries and scored tries because always looking for the action, just as I hoped at the start of the season. The lethal ball-playing back row that so many on this forum have yearned for.

Thank you so much for the very nice comments. It really is pretty overwhelming some of the nice things that people say.

He’s always been a 13 and he likes the freedom he has there of roaming about and looking to back up any breaks. But having said that he’s had a few good games at second row this year.

His 2 tries on Sunday came when he moved to loose. He wouldn’t of scored his first under the posts if he’d of been second row, as he wouldn’t of been in that position

I think of Laithwaite was fit he would be 13. Looks strong in either but more chance to use his skill at 13 I think.

Yes if Laithwaite was fit he’d be playing, I think he’s a very good player and let’s hope we do keep him. Be interesting to of seen what the team would of been last couple of month. I do believe Matty Garside should be in, I think he’s a very good solid, consistent player. Now we have young Storton who’s doing really well too. Don’t know where Elliot may of played to be honest if all had been fit.
Who’s be a coach trying to keep everyone happy

I would definitely say currently our best back 3 if all fit is 11. Garside 12. Laithwaite 13. Elliot

He adds another dimension when he has freedom, sort of our version of O'Loughlin, can do the tough stuff but contribute with a good passing game. Laithwaite and Garside are total grafters and I think with Storton coming on leaps and bounds them 4 give us great options in the back row

What’s been pleasing for me, yes he’s scored a lot of tries, he brings home his stats sheet for every game and he’s regularly topped the tackle count with 40 odd tackles and that’s if he’s been second row, loose forward or in the halves. All in all I’ve got to be very happy how he’s gone this season, now it’s all down to one, ok maybe 2, game as to whether this season has been a success for the club.
