Perhaps this statement of unanimous support from the players was contingent on McNamara first burying the hatchet with Halley and recalling him? Just a thought.

But on the other hand would they state the team is fully behind him if that wasn't the case? Surely no such statement would be given either way if that was the case.

Paul124897 wrote:Those 'boo boys' seemed to be 25% of the crowd, which is a hell of a lot. They're also entitled to air their beliefs. Whilst I didn't boo, performances in recent weeks from a side that on paper are very good, definitely warranted it.

I would guess the actual people booing is far less than 25%.. but I haven't done any sort of research into this! There is no 'law' against booing but it's not something I can ever imagine doing to the side I support. I've gone home bitterly disappointed over the last few weeks but what are the people hurling abuse at the team/coach expecting to achieve?

Really?

Sending the captain out with a prepared statement says anything but.

Making themselves feel better. Regardless of the consequences.

Yeh I expect McNamara wrote it for him the night before.

Sledger nails it...

Quote:In some ways Bradford are victims of the high standards they set during the first 10 years of Super League, when they won the title on four occasions and reached the grand final six times.

When I said 25%, I meant in the area that I was stood. I over-exagerated that point, and didn't mean the whole ground ;).

When Macca walked past at half time, he was certainly on the end of a verbal backlash by the fans, far worse than I've seen before.

If this is an official apology, why no reference to it on the website or indeed in the quotes from Deacon and Hood? Odd.

Not one person near us was booing.

But then we were stood with the Hull fans...

(and I feel fine)

I suggest its the slant being put on it in the headline - makes for good press, after all?
