I want to see how Mitch Souter goes. Supposedly he’s been ripping it up in training. He could really speed the forwards up

Pollsters doing Excellent job - say recent polls.

Does anyone know if Mick Gledhill is covering this game on West Yorkshire Radio?

How did the new lads get on? Looks like Dan Smith was propping on the team sheet. Was hoping he’d play more 13.

Players always play anywhere in preseason means nothing

Really entertaining game despite the awful weather. Ball was like a bar of soap so lots of mistakes but both sides really gave 100%

We looked great and were 18-0 up at one point. Flanagan got sin binned and Fax got themselves right back into it. For long periods in the second half we clung on. Fax couldn't make pressure count. We then got a late try to make the game ours.

Lilley and Brad England stood out today. Lilley everywhere.

Of the new lads Souter looked solid and some of his dummy half service was really slick. Smith did about 30mins at prop and did ok. Oakes was OK at first but then made a hash of a high kick that led to a Fax try and then made another error and was subbed.

The two Saints lads did ok. Peposhi probably tried a bit too hard and looked a bit ill disciplined. Moss only got on at the end but did put in one really good kick.

McGowan came on for Jowitt at fullback and was ok if unspectacular.

Really crap conditions for both sides. We really toughed this one out with some great defence in the second half in the face of monsoon like horizontal rain and gale force winds.

Listened to the 2nd half on the radio, sounded like the Bulls defended well despite a prolonged spell of pressure.

Cannot take much from an early pre season friendly but a win is always nice against our delightful neighbours!

The phrase politically correct is in itself politcally incorrect so should be rephrased politically stupid!

Statistically speaking you have a better chance of getting dead the older you get!

In the junior game they have gone further than RU when determining the age when tackling can begin. Will soon be u'10s before they even begin contact which seems a bit over the top to me if they're taught correctly. By under 8's the kids are usually desperate to move on from tag. If coached correctly, I honestly don't see it anymore riskier than any other activity a kid might do at that age.

Strikes me that somebody has panicked and said 'we must be seen to be doing something.. anything'.
