What a season that was looking back. I can remember after one match at home (I can’t remember who we’d lost to) some bloke waving his season ticket at the portakabin Noble used to sit in. Shouting for him to go and that he’d rip up his season ticket. He didn’t and I saw him at Knowsley Road after we won to get to the grand final ha ha.

Who could have known what the next 17 years were going to be like?

I remember being 10 at the time and watching the Saints vs Bulls game on TV in the pub. The one where we got battered.

Who knew how that season was going to go from that point. What a season.

Loved Ben Harris and Brad Meyers that season. And I felt sorry for Lynch when Morley came over.

And of course Vainikolo pumping Hull FC scoring 10 tries in 2 games against them haha.

I had a feeling when we started that winning run that we were going to go all the way. We showed a sort of single mindedness and determination that hadn’t been there before and with the squad we had I knew it was possible. Think we had to hit rock bottom first and it took that Saints game to pull everyone together.

I remember after winning the GF feeling that we’d not be back for a while with so many players leaving. Little did I know that it would be totally downhill from there.

And it still hurts you doesn't it

I seem to remember that winning streak coinciding with Hape returning from an injury. What a player Shontayne was.

I remember when Hape signed I was concerned because he was coming back from an ACL injury and Lee Gilmour had done ok in the left centre position. Hape soon showed why we'd signed him. A great winger's centre and superb defensively. Shame he's not been in the best of health since he left.

I think he’s about to show us how dumb he is when he comes on here to post again.
