Dumb question, but going fill tin foil...

If Storton went and you'd presume you'd get more for him then you have at least £200k which would make a mighty fine deposit on a mortgage of say £750k?

So making a wild assumption that AC is planning a raid on the lease, is it a fatal thing to do? i.e. upkeep costs v any change in rent from the RFL

If we secured the lease, could we have peppercorn rent to pay again? What about ground upkeep?

Selling players for that reason may be acceptable if we are planning on staying in this division for a few years.

I suspect this is what Aaron Bower was referring to in his recent tweets. The current lease is up for renewal after 31st May I believe.
I'm sure our good friends Mr Hudgell and Mr Carter will have something to say on the matter as well...

If we somehow got the lease back I expect we’d pay a peppercorn rent. As for ground maintenance it’s clear we’ve not being doing any since 2017, the place is a dump. It’s starting to rival Belle Vue at its worst.

I expect we’re currently living on a hand to mouth budget. I’m not sure how having the lease helps the immediate cashflow issue. Remember it was that which brought us down in the past.

If someone is covering cashflow (insert conspiracy theory here) then if we have the lease it’s possible we might be able to do a deal to unlock some of the value in the Odsal site by developing some of the land. But that is very longer term and very much pie in the sky.

Obviously I'd rather the club owner have the lease rather than the owner of a rival club if only due to the obvious conflict of interest.

Surely paying peppercorn rent as opposed to non peppercorn rent would improve cashflow to some extent?

Isnt it the requirement for us to play majority of our home games at odsal, agreed as part of odsal settlement, which runs out in May. Our sub lease with RFL is a seperate matter, with a decade or so left to run AFAIK.

You might be right, I have no idea tbh. I just saw Aaron's tweet and assumed that's what he meant.

Here's exactly what he put:

Quote:A reminder that the goalposts change on the Odsal lease circa seven weeks from now, May 31st.. that’s a lot of money heading Bradford’s way.

I don't understand what he means by a lot of money coming our way. The difference between what we pay now and peppercorn is not likely to be "A lot" so he appears to mean something else.
