Great news. A lot of Bradford players from West Bowling (who I believe have just won the treble in their age group including the national cup) which is always good.
BULLS REVEAL GRADUATES TO ACADEMY
We are delighted to reveal the 15 players who will make the step up from Scholarship to our Academy ahead of the 2024 season! The players were presented to the crowd during Bradford's recent fixture with Featherstone and now look ahead to two years in our Academy set up.
Head of Youth Ryan Hunkin said:
"I am delighted that we have secured the futures of 15 of our Under-16s Scholarship and added alongside them some outstanding talent from other pathways. They all worked extremely hard throughout 2023 and we look forward to assisting them in their development in to 2024 and beyond.
"The Scholarship, led by Head Coach Martyn Oxbury, assisted by Anthony Baker, Alex Stephens, Ryan Bostock, Joe Hammond and a team of development coaches from the community game, completed their 2023 season with 4 wins from 8 games with 34 players taking part in the 8 games.
"The players were supported off the field with Medical headed up by Rachael Harris, Strength and Conditioning delivered by Adam Bromley, Player Welfare and Education from Academy Player Welfare Manager Jill Elam.
"Huge credit must go to their community clubs and the outstanding volunteers who continue to produce talent for the professional game."
It's great to keep and eye on the youth side of things, especially having received our Elite Academy Licence back. Be good to hear more from Ryan and Glenn on the scholarship and academy. Looking at that list Lewis Owens from West Bank Bears from Widnes after looking them up. Then the announcements of the u15s intake at home to York Tom Glover from Thatto Heath another team in the Northwest. Maybe new connections over there as Eliot Peposhi and Dan Moss being offered trials as well. There's a few others at u16s Scholarship as well hearing from parents with sons in that environment. Great to see and hear as can only benefit us and after receiving our academy licence back be interesting to hear more interview around youth recruitment and development.
