We are going to play Hunslet in a pre season friendly on Sat 16th Feb at the South Leeds Stadium.(yes I know its confusing)Im guessing the team will be made up of the academy lads and perhaps a few from the first team squad who havant managed to force there way into the team in the first 3 rounds.

I'm baffled by this. Why are we doing it?

I think it's pretty obvious why we are playing this game. We have 38 players this year. That leaves 21 players not selected each weekend. Reserves and under 19s haven't started yet.

Ah. Well it wasn't obvious to me, but I thought academy and scholarship were starting at same time as 1st team. I see they're not underway until the end of Feb so it makes more sense now.

Keeping in mind the discussion re Fev and D/R and with Keighley dropping from the reserves comp, should we consider a D/R with a lower league club for up to 5 of our reserve/fringe players to get some game time?

Like quite a few I'd be very happy to see the end of DR but as it is, and with the Cougars definitely in need of some players, it is in the rules so why not?

Kear's said he's keen to help the Cougars out with players if they need them.
