To be fair when I saw Ralph Rimmer been interviewed next to Elstone, I did think if Rimmer went into TV negotiations, we'd get zilch. Whereas I thought Elstone seemed to have a bit more steel about him.

The sports in a mess. 12 chairman who will run the sport in self-interest and look after their buddies.

The sport has no money. Elstones on a reported £400k+. Clubs have pulled out of reserves leagues. Then they tell everyone they're making changes to the game with a goal kick shot clock and golden point. Because they were the issues that frustrated fans last year... Coincidence that maybe dealing with the number one issue, which was the ruck, would force them to spend some money on maybe having 2 refs.

Then last week it was revealed Wakey apparently asked their players to pay £250 each for a pre-season tour. Whether they players wanted to or is irrelevant (.i think Michael Carter is a great chairman BTW) but my point is how is it right they have to do that when we've got a guy on an Eye watering wage, who hasnt addressed any of the real issues in the sport. He appears to be a very expensive puppet for Leneghan.

The chairman have too much power. They always seem to be in the headlines and sadly the players take a back seat. Gone are the days of Robbie Paul, Sean Long, Andy Farrel being the personalities. Now its chairman being interviewed and getting the headlines responding to criticism of performances.

Totally agree. I never thought the sleeve would end up being the good guy in all this. If the rumour Wood gave the championship rights to sky to protect the clubs is right I tip my hat to him for trying to protect the wider game.

On the Wakey thing about the warm weather camp, I think it was blown out of proportion by Carvell. If it was a case of them saying we are going warm weather training but you all have to pay I would totally agree. It does seem it was more a case of this is what we have planned, if you want warm weather training we can we will pay some and it will cost you x. I am sure it would have been down to the players choice
