Fantastic defence today and Huddersfield only managed points from a bounce of the ball. I thought our attack at times looked a bit ordinary but with the conditions and yet another new half back partnership it was always going to happen.

I think our bench incredibly considering how outweighed they were by the Huddersfield bench, also credit to Dixon for a decent game thrown in at Loose Forward in the absence of TP. Clough and Ashurst both had good games driving forward off the bench and Scott Moore was his usual aggressive self.

Big games from both Roby and Graham in the metres and LMS was fantastic this week, really stood up. Credit to Armstrong as well for coming in and putting in the effort, some good runs from him.

I thought the whole pack did very well. Roby and lms was very good but I thought jammer was awesome!

Moore came on and put himself about and got thru a ton of work. Was great to see clough back and playing well for only his 2nd game back.

I still think our attack isn't up to scratch.

Fantastic defense tonight. Had it not been for Foster being a bit slow to react we would have nilled them, which given the conditions and the players out would have been a great achievement.

Armstrong, Shenton, Soliola, Pryce, Roby, LMS, Jammer and Wilkin all deserve special mentions but it would take too long.

Still a lot to work on in attack.

I thought Phil had a poor game tonight. He got loads of basic calls wrong and wasted a load of time referring everything we did, yet when they kicked through twice and forced a drop out and were blatantly offside he didn't need it. He also annoyed me when he sees enough to put Shirley on report but doesn't see enough to give a penalty against him for it. Also when Graham was headbutted by Robinson when he went for the big hit and messed it up, alright it wasn't malicious, but the point of contact is the head, it's got to be a penalty. And when he sin binned one of our players for questioning a decision he annoyed me again. They knock on from the first tackle after it and are also penalised for disent, yet he stays on?

Didnt sin bin him for questioning the decision, was for kicking the ball away a 2nd time

1 - Rubbish. If the touch judge gives a call, it's still a penalty.
2 - Fair enough, didn't notice that
3 - I'm not saying he means to headbutt him but he has a swing at him and the first contact is head on head.

1. He didnt see it hence it went on report, it aint rocket science.

2. Are you saying he led with a swinging head?

3. Glad we cleared one of the three up your struggling with

Personally thought it was an awful game, way too much spilled ball, questions marks over 2 of the tries, thought Leons was ok though

Wouldnt have given ours neither, didnt think it was downward pressure

No, of course I'm not saying he swung his head at him  I'm saying he goes for a big hit, but lines it up wrong and goes too high and they end up clashing heads. I'm basing all this on a live viewing, I'll review it in more detail later.

First of all well done, thought Saints' defence tonight was outstanding and they took their chances well which was the difference. They showed good aggression in defence, controlled the ruck in attack and defence and just completely outplayed us.

Was a frustrating night watching us turn the ball over so much though.

The touch judge only saw what we saw by watching the big screen - he didn't call it at the time because he didn't see it at the time, plus having watched it back Eorl has nothing to answer for. His arm is flat against his ribs as he goes into the tackle. It was just a very hard impact which McCarthy-Scarsbrook came off worse.

It's a clash of heads, get over it - the players did.

We seam to have put an emphasis on defence in recent weeks and maybe that's draining our attack somewhat at the moment. I still think we are getting better as theyear goes on. I said we would make 3rd possibly 2nd and I still think it's all on. Even better this was our toughest game of the run in.

Now we need to get everyone we need fit. I know it will sound disrepectful to the last 3 sides. But given results and the league table the last 3 games should be achievable with or without Graham, Roby etc.

If they need time to get back to full strength now is the time to rotate. Clough looked better this week than last. LMS went well for us tonight even before the try. Every single man was solid defensively. Bit of a brain fart from Foster, but then he took one across the line earlier that he could have left. ( it happens and it was a brough special). With the CC final as a rest weekend we should be aiming for a full team bar Perry come the playoffs.
