Post subject: | Advice Re: travel to Catalan |
Hi All. Missed out on the sun so far this year so we're thinking of travelling across to watch Saints V's Catalans in May. I've had a look at the organised tours and think they're a bit too expensive plus we'd like to spend a few days extra in Spain. We were thinking of flying to Barcelona and then travelling across to Lloret de Mar. Stopping in Lloret for a couple of days and then travelling up to Perpignon by train/bus for the match. Anyone got any advice etc they could pass along. More concerned about the French part of the trip and getting tickets for the game. Cheers in advance. Matt. |

Tickets are not a problem, in the slightest. Travel wise, may I suggest you fly to Toulouse, take a couple of days there and then train yourself to Perpignan. Plenty to see and do in Toulouse, and we found some superb night life (cheese as nibbles instead of peanuts!) Lloret is ok, if you like Blackpool |

We took our holiday in north eastern Spain to coincide with the match in 2007. We stayed in Estartit and drove to Perp's in a higher car - that was a great trip over the Pyrenees Mountains and well worth doing. Took about 2-2.5hours. I'd do it again but the match hasn't fallen on the right dates these last two. |
