Post subject:  Songs to Sing and Learn ?

i have only been to 4 games in the last year Warrington home and away and Huddersfield away and Hull at wembley, but i watch the majority of games on Sky. and i have not been impressed with the songs / chanting what go on.

Yes "oh when the saints" is iconic song in the club. but can some one tell me some other songs ? i work with a Warrington fan who recently told me that the saints are starting to steal there songs but forgetting to change words.

Maybe a thread on these forums to be Sticky to post songs / propose new songs, in which the fans can learn and take to the games and sing proud ?

a little imagination and creativeness could spark the fans into life at games.

Look foward to reading your responses.

What is the obsession with singing?

Yes, we aren't the best fans for singing but it is really irrelevant. It doesn't make us better fans if we are louder than the other teams.

I think the thing that people like - and understandably -imo is the atmosphere that singing creates at the game, and especially when the entertainment on the pitch isn't at its best a good atmosphere can make the game more entertaining.

And also I think when games are close it must provide a boost for the players to be able to hear the fans vocally supporting them.

No it can't.

If the game is crap then it is crap irrelevant of any singing or atmosphere. Vice versa if it is good then it is good.

It doesn't make the game more entertaining. Try watching a game on the TV with no sound on. It is exactly the same game.

Frankly, i'm not against singing and i do like to sing some of the better songs but the harping on about it all the time is tiresome. If you want to sing then sing*.

*Aimed at people in general not specifically you.

It may not for you, but for me (and others I have spoken too) it does.

I can understand why people complain about it tbh because sometimes you would find more life in St Helens Crem than you would in Knowsley Road - I think its probably a sad sign of the apathy of some of our fans and the "turn up and watch in silence" nature that seems to be getting even worse with every season that passes.

I accept your point but it isn't a problem.

If you want to sing then do sing. If you don't then don't. It is relatively simple.

What is wrong with turning up and just watching the game if people want to, it is no indication of apathy.
