Post subject:  Rugby League Heritage Centre is now free to visit

It is now free to visit the Rugby League Heritage Centre in Huddersfield and since it opens on Saturdays and Sundays, there will be plenty time for anyone going to Sunday's match to call in.
On show is a wide selection of Rugby League history including cups, trophys, jerseys, boots, medals, century old digitised photographs, programmes, newspaper cuttings and also three plasma screen TVs showing games from the past.
On sale are an interesting collection of DVDs, magazines and books including a number with a strong St Helens content: The Patience of a Saint, All Local Lads, A Two Horse Town (Keith Macklin's autobiography), From Great Broughton to Great Britain, One Winter, One Summer, One Autumn, We'll Support You Evermore, Champagne Rugby and Rugby League Review No. 2 (which includes five St Helens writers among its thirty contributors).

The centre is located in the famous George Hotel which is about 100 yards from the main railway station. Be warned though, due to all the building work that is going on, parking close to the place is a little difficult.
