Last night was the first game v Hull KR since they came back up to where I haven't seen trouble to be fair, however it was also the first game I have been to where the police have had metal detectors outside at least 2 pubs

I don't have a problem with this, although found it astounding that my kids had to be checked while saints fans were walking past unchecked. My husband was told this is done at all major sporting events in the area now so interesting to hear you say this was a first. Surely it would have been better to have had the checks outside the turnstiles to check everyone entering the ground not just checking away supporters getting off the buses.

Last time KR came there was a fight among the fans and the police got involved. KR have that rep, unfortunately. But I noticed last night that the police kept back, unlike last time you visited when they were everywhere, with horses and stuff. They were more discreet this time, which was good.

But also, and what was best, your fans didn't have a fight this year! They were very good boys and girls and all deserved some sweeties. Keep that up and you'll lose the rep.

I wasn't being patronising. Look at the smilie. That means I was being lighthearted.

I gave you the reason. Last year your fans had a fight among themselves. The atmosphere was not nice when you arrived last year. That's why the police will have been out and why you will have been checked, kids and all (not all kids are angels you know). Our fans don't generally have fights. That's the difference. You stop having fights and creating bad atmospheres, the police won't check you. In a previous generation it was Warrington fans who created trouble and they got the attention. They no longer do cause trouble and so they don't. You don't cause trouble, you won't have the attention. But it will take a while.

Last night your fans were great. A few more seasons like that and everyone will have forgotten that they were ever a problem. And it doesn't matter whether it is a minority or not, in a stadium, especially one like Knowsley Road which is compact and people are not segregated, a minority can cause chaos and spoil things for a lot of people.

So a few fans fight amongst themselves and we have the worst reputation in SL? I admit we need to rid ourselves of these few idiots and far be it from me to defend any idiot who gives our club a bad name, but to read your comments you'd think there had been an allout riot last year, which from where I was stood there wasn't.
