An arguemnt used by some to devalue the Challenge Cup I know, but that is a tradition that should never be sneered at, as it allows lower league and non-league teams the chance of a giant killing performance which could be the crowning glory for a lot of players for the rest of their lives

I agree re-the cup but the league is still inbalanced with the extra fixture's so it will always add weight to the finishing top argument!!
The comp we have is great but it has many flaws imo even more now with the top 8 and pick yer opponent garbage but it's also the BIG 1 at OT which is considered the most worthy trophy out of all on offer followed by the cup.

Rugby league should have something similar to the charity shield to kick off the season. Challenge cup winners vs Superleague champions. It would gain much needed publicity to launch superleague every year.
what do you think

That would be good a stand alone showpiece to launch the season :thumb:

We used to do it, but it got scrapped due to lack of interest, poor sponsorship and it being another extra game.

We enjoyed the Isle of Man trips though. 8)

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

Quite pleased your playing 4:30 on the Sunday Afternoon. Four days before our Easter clash. :D

Reserve team for your game.First team for our home clash against Hull.
I've always thought of McGuire as a good player, and I wouldn't normally wish injury on any player, but there was a certain hint of poetic justice to that.
Another classic:
You forgot to take off the "Saints Reduction Factor" when calculating the ban.

Standard suspension / Saints Reduction Factor = Actual ban for Saints player.

Therefore (2 / 3) = 0.666

0.666 < 1 therefore actual ban equals "less than 1 match".

Therefore ZERO.
We might have done that in the days when we were a ruthless winning machine. We've got so fat recently that the club won't try anything.

8? Where do you get that from? The league leaders shield is not a trophy.
