I think Ashurst had his debut last week? Can't remember. Wheeler has played first grade about three times (and probably scored each time) and Foster has yet to play first grade I think (he kicks like a demon) except in our pre-season friendlies. Frodsham has also played a handful of times for us at first grade. Eastmond, however, has played a number of games for us at first grade but sadly at the moment seems to be a bit of an injury magnet. Eastmond came along I think with the last wave of recruits. You may notice the hooker at Huddersfield. He's one of our academy recruits. Doing good things under a good coach. Smith seems to be doing ok at Celtic just now. Tyrer may be a bust but if the others do well then one not making it is hardly a disaster.
Since our latest batch of recruits - all seven of them - have only just started playing first grade this season, I really don't see how they can be compared to Leeds's lot, favourably or otherwise?
Some fair points there.
I just think the players that Leeds are bringing through are real "athletes" with
genuine pace and that is where their youth development is ahead of every other club in SL at the moment.
It's just my opinion that Gidley, Pryce, Roby, Cunningham & Long paper over the cracks of the rest of your team and 3 of those 5 players are gonna retire soon.
For instance; I've seen enough SL games of Tyrer to know that he won't make half the player that our own Kris Whelam will make (if he keeps progressing) but because Tyrer is connected to Saints, he's probably thought of as a better prospect.
And I think when Gidley, Cunningham and Long retire, you may well discover that your youngsters are not all they're made out to be. Just my opinion...
