Their was a time when only tasty birds would get the Bond gig .Even Shirley Bassey was worth a squirt .Now they give it to any old slapper, she might have a decent voice but who cares ? Can you imagine James Bond having to bed an ugly bird in the movie ?I blame the bbc and pollitical correctness. Id still give her one mind.

If it wasn't for hip hop sampling old funk, r n b, and soul tracks, a huge amount of great music would've been lost to generations of music fans. I know I wouldn't know about the likes of James Brown, Curtis Mayfield, Miles Davies, Mose Allison, George Clinton, Sly and the Family Stone etc, if I didn't listen to rap music. Much in same way I wouldn't know about great blues artists like Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Howlin Wolf, John Lee Hooker, BB King etc if it wasn't for bands like Fleetwood mac, The Stones, Zeppelin, The Who, Cream, and the Yardbirds.

Those whom are ignorant to hip hop are really missing out. Yes, most of the mainstream stuff is misogynistic and rubbish. But, overall some of the best poets, strory tellers, and social comentators of the last 30 years have rap artists.

Hip Hop for me died sometime ago, for me artists like Eric B and Rakim, Public Enemy, KRS 1, Dana Dane etc were pioneers and visionary leaders imo.

They're all still releasing music with the exception of Dane.

So the Northern Soul scene - which still flourishes to this day - would have ignored all these artists? I think I've heard tracks by all those, bar Miles Davies, played at one time or another
