I've only just got around to watching this on Amazon Prime; 4 episodes in, and it's brilliant. Takes some getting your head around if you haven't read the book, but it's essentially around a hidden world of magic and ancient gods, and their response to the new world of technology and such. Well worth a go - and some perseverance.

It just didn't click with me TBH. I enjoyed the scenes with Ian McShane but there seemed an awful lot of pointless filler that seemed like it was trying too hard to be clever.

I've just watched the final episode and whilst I take your point about being clever - I don't think it was a case of trying too hard; I think it just is clever - that's kind of the point of a Neil Gaiman story.

As I said, I'm not sure it has mass appeal - maybe for the reason you've highlighted - but I really enjoyed it; once you get the gist, it's really interesting and very well made. I'm looking forward to season 2.

Binged on this over a couple of nights and really enjoyed it - Ian McShane is superb, an interesting concept with plenty of twists.

One problem - couldn't see past Shadow Moon being the guy from Hollyoaks. :)

Agreed - another outstanding performance from Ian McShane, as per his brilliant turn in Deadwood.

Thankfully I haven't watched Hollyoaks in donkeys, so I didn't have that to contend with.

Season 2 is on Prime as of today I believe - at least Cronus and I will be happy.
