Sorry couldn't disagree more! Saw a couple of episodes and just don't get it at all. BBC comedy is poop in general (bar the likes of QI & HIGNFY?). |

Citizen Khan must have been written in the 70s the jokes are that old, as the previous poster said BBC comedy is pathetic. Eg Citizen Khan, Mrs Browns Boys, anything with Miranda in. Channel 4 comedy used to be class but that too has slipped. How id love to see something like Brass Eye or Fast Show made nowadays. |

I was thinking the same thing just yesterday; read Steve Coogan's autobiography recently and as a result, re-watched The Day Today on YouTube; there's just nothing like it being made any more. TV comedy seems to consist of lame, dated sitcoms (Citizen Khan being a prime example) or panel shows. Occasional Partridge outings on Sky Atlantic aside, we're in a drought - unless there's a load of good stuff on other platforms, as seems to be the modern way, and I'm just too old to be up to speed with it. |

It caused a stir at the time 15 years ago, there's no way something like that could be shown now without the general public and media going into meltdown and complaints to Channel 4 being in the hundreds of thousands. I'd even hazard a guess there'd be a petition to sign online. We seem to be living in a new puritan age of TV where everything is sanitised to the point of being unwatchable. There are so many groups who can be potentially offended that I don't think even the mavericks will push their luck for fear of the consequences. Will we ever have anything like this said on TV again? VOICEOVER : He was allowed to write articles for a magazine edited by a man who, at that time, had a 9 year old nephew with a nice pink booty and no hair on his balls. The orgy of slywinking usery was only brought to an end by a stairwell noncebashing which left North braindead and quadraspazzed on a life-glug. CHRIS MORRIS : Jes North is released tomorrow. Can we be sure that pervert mechanics haven't built him one of these. Of course we can't, which is why your children could very soon be splatted by a roboplegic wrong-cock. Now what are the facts about paedophiles? |
