Only watched the first episode so far, but it was interesting enough to make me press series link; it's a high concept bit of weirdness, based on the aftermath of the mass simultaneous disappearance of millions of people all over the world. Don't watch it if you want to be uplifted - it's relentlessly grim - but it's nice to look at and has a decent cast; Liv Tyler and Christoper Ecclestone among them.

So far, intriguing - I'll see how it pans out; could be good, could be another Lost.

Isn't it written by the guy who did Lost?

I don't know - if it is, I hope he learned from his mistake!

Created by Damon Lindelof (Lost) and directed by Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights). I love both those programmes so was looking forward to The Leftovers but wasn't really taken by the pilot episode.

God knows we don't need another Lost on our hands.

I've watched all episodes and I just don't get it.

I'll still be watching tonight though.

Episode 6 Guest is one of the best yet,
quite a few wtf moments

Agreed - really enjoyed that episode; I was on the verge of giving up after the stoning incident, but Guest has got me interested again.

It's clear that there are going to be more questions than answers for the entire series, but it's well made and is keeping my attention.

Loving the series - I just hope we get some answers to the great departure soon.

Just watched the season finale - no risk of spoilers, because there were no revelations about the departure; not even a tiny tease of an explanation about what happened. Now maybe I'm indicative of a dumbed down modern audience that requires set-up, pay-off and resolution in each hour long episode, but I've persevered without any of that for ten whole episodes of The Leftovers, and it's left me feeling a bit cheated.

I can't see me bothering with season 2 - in the end, despite being well made and decently acted, it turned out to be mostly depressing, nihilistic and in places (the stoning!) downright nasty - all for nothing.
