There is another chance for people to see this wonderful mini-series, beginning on Friday at 9pm on TCM (317 on Sky, don't know on others). If you've not seen it before, I highly recommend it.
I'd also recommend taping the show. There are a lot of characters, and on first viewing it can be tricky keeping track. Subsequent viewings add to the experience as you know the soldiers.
Oh, and there is a TCM plus one channel, but for some reason that isn't in widescreen.

The Pacific, in a very similar vein is also excellent.
Disagree on the pacific. Too broad in it's scope and uses three different characters in different war zones to tell the story. Does not have the same level of emotional involvement in the characters and is very disjointed compared to BOB.

I think they were a bit scared of being accused of just making 'Band Of Brothers 2: The Pacificking', so conciously tried a different formula. I agree with you, it didn't work as well. I've not re-watched it. Who knows, it might improve when I do.

I can heartily agree - Band of Brothers is fantastic TV; the interviews with the actual veterans who are portrayed on screen that precede each episode are particularly powerful.
Fantastic stuff, if a little difficult to watch at times.

Hated it from start to finish. Historically inaccurate in the extreme with no reference to the other "Allies" in the war - something the yanks have a real inability to do.
Worse than Private Ryan which I thought an impossibility.
Jingoistic sentimental crud which the fantastic action scenes could not even save.
Sorry guys but I really don't like either of them, but the wife does if that helps
I've had the BoB boxset for a few years and never got round to watching it, until this week.
Sensational I thought. Some seriously powerful scenes, and for me it really carried across the emotions. You'd feel tense when something was happening, feel the utter relief when they go away etc.
Well worth the £20 I paid for the boxset all that time back.
