New points based changes.
Makes sense to me.

Points received for each charge per grade
Grade A: 1 point
Grade B: 3 points
Grade C: 5 points
Grade D: 12 points
Grade E: Refer to Tribunal

Games missed
6-11 points: one-match ban
12-17 points: two matches
18-23 points: three matches
24-29 points: four matches
30-35 points: five matches
36-38 points: six matches
39-41 points: seven matches
42-44 points: eight matches
45-47 points: nine matches
48-50 points: ten matches
51-53 points: eleven matches
54+ points: twelve matches

It's the same clowns determining if there is an offence and the grade. The new system doesn't address the utter lack of consistency. And the 5 points added for an unsuccessful appeal, regardless of the strength of evidence provided, suggests a panel uncomfortable with even a modicum of scrutiny and challenge.

Do we have anything to explain what each grade offence is please.

I think it's similar to the NRL system

I'm sure that with Connor, Newman, Bentley and Lisone in the side, we'll be appreciating the finer points of this system soon enough.

Although maybe losing Martin has a silver lining in this regard.

Discipline is certainly one area that we've been terrible in (irrespective of coach) in recent years.

Bravo. I’ve bailed on a season ticket for the first time in many years because of these clowns. Decision making based on the subjectivity of refs rather than by the rule book has killed it for me.

You survived Holdsworth, Whitfield and the Connollys yet somehow the current setup is what's done it. That doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Exactly. I've watched thousands of games & can only think of a couple where the ref has spoiled the game for me. The refs today are generally as good & professional as ever, they are just more scrutinised & vilified than ever, as seems to be the fashion.

It's not so much the refereeing (though there is a "look at me" attitude from some of them) it's the panel. The outcomes too often give the impression of them looking for things to call out and reasons to ban players. I'm not against a points system, but the panel must become much more transparent in the way it works and focus on big ticket issues rather than the minutiae of each game.

A good friend of mine tells me his Dad overheard Whitfield saying in a pub how much he hated Leeds... the man was an outrageously bad referee.
