It's extremely insincere to pretend that Smith wasn't given more than ample time to try and make it work here. He was also financially backed more than any other coach in years.

The people who offered him unreserved support for far too long were the ones completely in the wrong, further enabling our mediocrity. Not the ones calling for Smith's head.

It should be no problem for Arthur to go one better than Smith and delivery a GF win in his first half season here. Anything less ought to be abject failure given how Smith was so unsuitable as a coach, according to the southstander intelligentsia.
