If this becones a thing we might as well just have touch rugby. Think that would be the end of the game for me.

This was announced months ago, and although I have reservations about it, it seems to be in line with what the science suggests. It could even potentially reduce the amount of wrestling at the ruck.

It'll be interesting to see if it works.

I understand the need to be seen to be trying to reduce the concussion risk. What I don’t understand is how shorter kickoff will help. I would have thought that there are more long kicks in open play when the ball can be kicked as long as possible or if near the line a high kick exposing the catcher.

The aim is that both the ball carrier and 2/4 tacklers don’t have the room and time to get up to the same speed and so impact is lessened. That’s the theory anyway

True. But as a trial it'll probably confirm your point and the idea will be dropped.

Solly has borrowed fat nigels bumper book of spin. Unfortunately, spin only works if uninitiated are listening.........but yeah, 1 million people have watched a video about a sport that attracts 56k attending fans per weekend to its top flight and maybe 200k viewers per game along a single stretch of UK roadway.....

Just read there were 50 plus high shot penalties awarded in last night's U18s game.
Can this be right?
