Good to see Newman, Gannon and Walters in the squad especially as he is rumoured to be signing for the Saints! I just hope we are not playing Gannon in the halves at the expense of giving Sinfield a run there.
The squad in full is: 1 Richie Myler 3 Harry Newman 4 Nene MacDonald 5 Ash Handley 6 Blake Austin 8 Mikolaj Oledzki 10 Zane Tetevano 11 James Bentley 12 Rhyse Martin 13 Cameron Smith 14 Jarrod O’Connor 15 Sam Lisone 17 Justin Sangare 18 Tom Holroyd 19 James McDonnell 20 Morgan Gannon 22 Sam Walters 23 Liam Tindall 25 James Donaldson 26 Corey Johnson 29 Jack Sinfield
This will be an interesting visit to Headingley, depends which Leeds side turns up based on recent form. We've been winning but not spectacular the past 3 games. We are without two of our best players in Lafai and Sio, with Sidlow also missing out.
After a couple of weeks break and the positivity of our community ownership scheme now in full flow with 400 plus investors and over 112k raised to date (Last 7 Days) it will be great to see a match again.
Who wins I've no idea - Jack Smith does not tend to give us much, both teams are missing key players so its a fairly even game to call. Looking forward to this one and I'm going Salford by 7.

I've been wondering about how we give him a pathway. No pace as such which could have given him a bit of breathing space while he came to terms with organising games. He faces a steep learning curve.

His dad wasn't quick but he was also tough enough to play 13 a lot, and he only permanently switched to 6 from 2010. That took pressure off him as a pure playmaker as he could work with Burrow and McGuire. Young Jack doesn't look like that route is open to him - its 6 or bust. Frankly if Sezer doesn't start to perform more often then its got to be worth starting to get Sinfield some game time, even if its off the bench for a while.

Sinfield looks more of a 7 to me - I know they are similar and fairly interchangeable these days.

I agree Chris, play him at 7. It`s time he got a few games whilst Sezer is out and if necessary interchange with Gannon depending on how it pans out. I also hope Walters gets in the 17. Some big calls to make Rohan.
6 or 7 is just a number on the back of the shirt in the modern game it means nothing, better is to describe the complementary playing styles of 6 and 7 together.
Either way it sounded from rohans press conference that myler will get the role, Handley at FB, Tindall wing and guess that means Martin staying at centre. I'd have Walters in for sangre, Johnson on the bench let's not pss around with Bentley he either starts back row or doesn't play, which given recent performances I wouldn't be arsed as gannon and Mcdonnell would make an industrious pair.
Johnson on the bench would also give an alternative if whatever halves option picked doesn’t pan out. Pretty sure Rohan picked Johnson there a couple of times last year.
Also think Seth is spot on with complimentary styles. That’s where Sinfield and Austin might work, though asking Jack to come in and control straight away is obviously a big ask.

I wouldn't select Bentley he's way off form.I would go with Tet and McDonnell and have Gannon on the bench.I agree with Walters in for Sangare .If Smith is keen to keep Walters then he should show him some faith.
I'm not a pheasant plucker, i'm a pheasant pluckers son and i'm only plucking pheasants till the pheasant plucker comes.
-asMyler-Austin lacks any sense of control or guidance. We've seen both of them before without a proper playmaker and it generally doesn't end well. Handley may develop into a full back, but there's far more to the role than just being quick, and it will take some time to develop into a good one. I guess I'd rather put Sinfield in and see what happens. Hopefully the Gannon-as-halfback thought bubble has long since popped.
