He asked to leave.

Inside information, what on earth are you on about? I don’t need inside knowledge to have s view on his statement. Him declaring himself captain on a CC winning side (Gale was captain) then his obvious dig at Smith is as I say petty.

Hope you are right but he could have hung around and made life difficult. Smith has clearly fallen out with him. For 2024, I don’t have any clue who to try and sign from the NRL and whether we can get better that what we have. The only one who must go for me is Fusitua. He has talent but is too slow and when we gave away the soft try v. Catalan he was stood close by waiting for the next carry and literally stood like a statue when Martin lost the ball and did nothing to stop the try, he looks to me like retirement is beckoning which is sad because I bet he was good when fit 5 or 6 years ago.
