Just to add I don't think there will be a bounce back, I envisage the opposite, I think Agar was well liked by the players so I wouldn't get our hopes up of it getting better any time soon.
“ Leeds Rhinos have announced that Head Coach Richard Agar has taken the decision to stand down from his role with the first team squad with immediate effect but will have a future role at the club, which will be confirmed at a later date.”

Had to happen I’m afraid.
The body language after games was showing a man at the end of his tether and out of ideas. How can we go from training the house down all week (allegedly) then stinking the house out come match day? More than that, repeating this week after week?
He has lost the squad (or at least certain players) and at least he hasn’t dragged this out any further.
Please though, no more ‘mates’ or short cut appointments, we have to get this right unless we are doomed to continue this cycle of crap.

JJB as head coach - is this for real? Another mates appointment - no doubt JP will be brought back into the coaching fold
I'm glad it's happened relatively quickly before it became overly toxic. The next appointment is huge, I hope the club really take the time to find the right coach who can take us forward.
This is actually a clever decision. He wasn't sacked, so can have his future role. It doesn't mean we shoehorn in another coach in time to get hammered by saints and cas, but also means we will have a much needed change of coach.
I don't think Agar lost the squad. I think if anything, he was too pally with them, and not a coach they were afraid of.
Time to put the playing squad on notice. We need an outsider who will come in and objectively look at the squad, irrespective of previous performances or squad numbers.
