IMO. True supporters offer support for the team through good and bad times. The team have given us all 10years of great times, not just good, and now times are not good. This is when true supporters stand by the team.

If a builders' house starts to fall to pieces because he looses 3 or 4 parts of it. Say, the supporting beams or props (let's call them Peacock and Leuluai), and the main power supply and power distribution system, (let's call them Sinfield and Aiton).
He starts to rebuild the house and installs a new power supply (McGuire) and uses second hand props and distribution system all imported from Australia.

He's looking forward to success in his re- build but knows it will take a long time before he has anything like the dream house he had a short while ago.

Then he hits another big problem, the new power supply breaks down after a very short time and then he looses most of his tools to do the job plus the remaining tools don't work as well as they used to.

This house will take a lot longer to re-build than anybody thought, even when all his best tools are found again.

Someone has got too much time on their hands to write this crap!

In times of difficulty there are lots of these how great a supporter I am. People pay they can do what they want within reason. They pay to be entertained if they feel that's not happening they are free to voice their opinions. I personally don't get involved with booing but if people do it's their right.
Too many judging on who is a "proper" fan or not. I used to go all games in late 80 and 90 home and away and in the 2000 but of late go a little less due to having a young family, what's it matter I support the team have an opinion and a right to voice it

Where do I say that supporters haven't got the right to voice an opinion??

Errm, in the title of your own thread? The implication is clearly that those who complain are only fair weather supporters.

You're welcome.

How long did it take for you to come up with this? You're probably pretty pleased with what you consider to be a very good, apt analogy. Trouble is it's crap.

Leeds and the game are in the entertainment business; people want a 'feel good' return for their money. If they are served poop then they are unlikely to want to return for more. However, if you're an indoctrinated acolyte then I guess you might feel differently.

Is that why they are called Spectators (speckies) and not Supporters anymore

This really annoys me - being called a "Fair Weather supporter" or not a 'True' supporter simply for criticising the players, coaches or management.

The criticism I give the club is because I really care about what happens at Leeds.

Over the years I have come to believe that about 90% of the people that watch Rugby League have no real understanding of what they are watching (present company excluded obviously), and just see 26 blokes running around trying to knock the cr@p out of each other. These people's understanding has been replaced with blind faith, which means at no point can anyone say anything negative about their beloved club because if they do then they aren't a 'true' supporter or are a fair weather fan.
