It's simpler than that: calendar years ending in a '6' are almost always crap for Leeds and almost always will be. '86, '96, '06, '16. Just hibernate until next season and then we'll be fine again.

Not true. Leeds retained the Yorkshire Cup in the 1976/77 season with a two try MOTM performance by Les Dyl. The Yorkshire Cup was traditionally played early season with the final held in or around October.
