I have been less than enthusiastic :D about this pairing at centre ....but (admittedly it's only highlights) both looked pretty good there producing some good centre play - particularly Smith.

Still think Delaney would go better in the second row...but maybe Smith (with Watkins at LC of course) might be the short term answer for this season after all.

With the return of BJB for the Right Wing maybe Hardaker could be given a shot at stand off with McGuire at scrum half. He looks a class act ....and a little wasted stuck out on the wing.

Don't think he is wasted out on the wing at all

If we shifted all the players that you've suggested over the last year in to new positions, I don't think anyone would have a clue what's going on, least of all the players!

I pity poor old Smithy then: he must be positively screwed up for life

I have not really seen hardaker play so. But he is doing well on the wing and see no reason to move him

Unsurprisingly, you miss my point.

he's a 6 actually, but would go well on the wing or fullback for the next couple of years.

Until Watkins returns there's absolutely no reason to change anything plus if smithy can get settled in either centre role then there's no need for it to be short term imo.
If Webby is leaving next season could easily see our backs line up as ..
Bjb ,Hall ,Watkins ,Smith ,Hardaker.
The cover would come from Abblett ,Delaney and hopefully the likes of Chisolm ,Wilson and co will be ready to step in.
There's also the possibillity that we will sign another centre then that leaves some depth out wide and competition for spots.
At this moment though the backs have a confident game to build on and it also has options when everyone is fit.

I said the same yesterday about hardaker possibly being a stand off in the long term, hes pretty hard to tackle, has good feet, and awareness, and is always looking to pass, im happy for him to stay on the wing though for now.
