The trouble is that referrees and specatators cant tell the difference between the two.

Bailey was superb last night, and rattled Saints. The verbals incident when ginger came on was hilarious. Bailey was legal throughout the match, but seems to be a marked man by the officials. Even Eddie Hemmings suspects he's dirty - but I was pleased that Cullen, Stepho and Clarke all came to his defence ( what have they got in common? - yes, all ex players who know what its about).

Hard Play - Watmough on Burrow, Mozza on Ryan Hall two weeks ago, Bailey's shoulder on Maurie.

Foul Play - Maurie's chicken wing against Crusaders, Scutons high tackle against Bulls last year, Gilmour's facial of Smithy

Nothing to discuss.......
Hit the nail on the head IMO.

Its getting to the stage where if a player is injured, its the opposing player who was being dirty, not the fact that the injured player might have gone in wrong, or just had a big hit put on them.

You are absolutely spot on here. For the benefit of the Leeds fans in the North stand at Craven Park a few weeks ago can I add Briscoe on Bailey to your Hard Play list?

I wasn't at the game but watched it on telly and you certainly can add it to the list. I don't recall anybody on here having an issue with it.

it was a decent hit, nothing more, sometimes when a players back is turned and they have 'relaxed' having passed the ball, they are a bit more succeptable to a hit, i think that is what happened in this instance.

Oh I had a wonderful "conversation" with a few Leeds supporters about it. But that proves the point you are making. It is across the board where one of "our" players gets hit hard there is a tendency to see foul play that does not exist. Rovers are no better in this regard than anyone else I might add.

Whilst at the game, there appeared to be question marks about the hit when witnessed first hand, something that the first 2 replays on the big screen didn't alter. At that point, it looked like a late hit, possibly with a leading elbow and/or a high shot.

However, once the replay from behind the posts had been shown, it was quite clear there was nothing really wrong with the tackle. Maybe a fraction late, but nothing to get excited about.

Bill is right in saying that some Leeds fans couldn't take in what their eyes were showing them and continued to demand Briscoe be sent off.
