The Liberal/Convervative coalition council have decided to impose a stealth tax on people parking round Knowsley road in the side streets.
These streets are NOT residents only parking, however the council say they will be out in force ticketing people who they believe are in breech of rules re parking.
eg Parking too near a junction, double parking, parking on pavement, obstructing highway etc.
So be very wary when parking. My suggestion if arriving early is to take a photo of your parked car to prove it isnt double parked. That way if you later get a ticket you can prove it wasnt your fault.

The article makes interesting reading .... Given how long Knowsley Road has actually been there, surely the only acceptable complaints should be accepted from residents with 119 years of consistant habitation ?
As for the rest of them, like the clowns that live at Yeadon and complain about aircraft noise, there's a very good chance that the ground (and this wierd concept that sporting events might attract large numbers of people) was there before you ... No-one held a gun to your head to force you to live where you do.
By all means ticket those people who can't park properly (of which there are many), but for the rest of us if the tax disc is valid and there's no markings on the road, then tough.

Moving forward 2+ years, Saints have moved, no parking problems for residents, But wait - Supermarket open 24 hours, bigger traffic congestion every day, noise & addtional pollution - OH happy days before we complained about parking problems on a match day (13 times a year) - Ha Ha Ha - One last laugh Ha

Like those residents of LS6 who complain every time redevelopment of Headingley is discussed. If you don't want crowds of people on your street every other weekend, don't live near a major sports complex.
