I have to agree with Iestyn.

Harris asks for overseas age cap

Harris' idea would mean overseas stars over 30 would not be allowed to play in the European game.

I like this Idea....ALOT!
It is the Right Way to Go; and I suppose at Leeds we can think of it with not much worry. But for Clubs like Bradford whose best performers so far this season (Morrison and Menzies) are both "older" players I'm sure the argument will be why not if there under our oversea's quote. Interesting Argument though from Iestyn....

Interesting argument, but one that would have robbed the British game of players such as Furner and Glanville, to name but two.

Whilst I'd happily agree with it's introduction, I don't think for one second it would get past any sort of legal challenge.

The principle is great but legally i doubt it's enforcable!!

Not so sure I agree with it. I am also not so sure that Leeds would have the set up we currently have with this in place.

Sometimes the older experienced, but still stars, are required in order to bring along the juniors. This is why Leeds have got to where we have. These lads were not just thrown in, we have always had the odd old head to bring them along. And usually those old heads are over 30.

Right now we have Buderus who was planned to bring along McShane. Desipte Buderus not playing fully yet, the feeling from the club is that his involvement has been invaluable to the likes of McShane.

Personally I prefer a reduction in imports to an age limit.

Is it discrimination?

Not allowing somebody to work because of their age? Yes, it is discrimination.

Perhaps he should also think of a ban on Union clubs signing league backs under the age of 30 at the same time.
