witness the evil Moriarty, by going to a popular site and searching for '1989: Leeds vs Widnes 1/2'.

After about two minutes you'll see one of the worst fouls ever committed.

And otherwise you'll see a real biff-bang game. Grima, Izzard, Dixon...

The dirty Widnes so and so, - I remember being crammed into the SouthStand that afternoon, what was the attendance that day ??

Those were great games though, the days when Widnes had a pack that would frighten you even though you were stood 100 yards away just watching.

I think broken may understate it.

Am I right in thinking that Moriarty got 8 matches for his cowardly assault?

And in the late 80's, who was the player that got banned 'sine die'? I want to say Gary Charlton, but I think he might be an Eastenders character.

I wonder what the heck he did (apart from not playing for a big club) that was worse than Moriarty?

You might be right, Cumbrian forward he was.

Jason Donohue of Leigh. He was let off though and went on to 'play' for Leeds.
