Heard an interview with Ian Lenigen (Wigan supremo) on the radio this morning and when asked about how bad things were he replied "We have played three games and there are 27 games left!" ....

Same radio slot had the radio humberside guy reporting from the KC Stadium! They didnt make any such gaffs on the rugby union slot which preceeded the rugby league slot.

Also, Eddie Hemmings seems to be calling us "The Champions" more and more. Something he didnt do at the same stage last season - even though we were.... Perhaps last season I couldnt quite make it out through his gritted teeth!

Is it too early to write Wigan off as league leaders champions 2009??

It's too early to write anyone off who are genuine contenders but imo wigan aren't and never were. 8)

Too often teams are written off before the season has even started. Yes, we have got off to a good start but a bad patch at any point could be as bad or even worse than getting off to a bad start. I am not in to this "we will win the league as we have one 3 games" and I am sure any proper rugby fan knows it takes more than 3 games to make a season.

I think Nobby hasn't bought that well over the close season but the important thing is for his team to improve week on week. If they are doing that then he can't ask any more really. I think the management will look to get rid of him at the earliest convenience but give him time and towards back end of this season wigan will have a strong team in the playoff places.

Well they will lose at least another 3 games to Stains, that's 6 losses in the bank for the season and it's only week 3.

Wigoon's next three games are Quins away, then Bradford and Leeds.

They're going to struggle to get full points out of that run.

I wouldn't have even noticed if they had. I can't say it bothers me, they do it all the time for the football.

They'll struggle to get any I'd say. Noble will be gone by the end of those 3 IMO.

I think you should take evry quote from any Wigan source with a pinch of salt - Noble's job has to be at risk so nobody will give anything away...

(cue the wordplay with "Wigan source" and "pinch of salt")
