Post subject: | Ryan Bailey??? |
I'll be interested to know what everyones thoughts are on Ryan Bailey?? As a Leeds Season ticket holder I've been watching him for a few years now and Im unsure on him as a player. I started watching Superleague post 2004 so I never saw him playing for Great Britain and therefore never saw this form that warranted such a call up. I'm aware how high a regard that Leeds hold him in, Brian McClennon especially makes no secret of this, but for me he needs to step his game up abit. In my opinon he is in no doubt used by Leeds as an "impact player" coming off the bench as a big but also very mobile forward. It seems to me he concedes alot of penalties very easily. Do we think he is used as an agrressive player from the "get in there and rough them up abit" sort of angle? Or do with think he just gets carried away occasionally? It is also clear at the end of the day in sport that individuals can be doing great things for the team without it being seen; Do we think this is the case? At the end of the day he's been part of a winning Leeds team that has proven themselves as a unit and no doubt he has as an individual (like the others have) proven themselves within this unit. Im a total Leeds fan, and I would never want to appear to "slag a player off" as such and this is not my intention nor the point in this message. I have the up most respect for the athletes in our game and appreciate I am indeed no coach; nor do I claim to be. I'd just be interested to see what everyone thinks on this. Cheers |

He’s one of those hard workers. Every five years he’ll have one sensational game - remember that one where he got man of the match (maybe TVOC can look that one up because I doubt he’s has many). I used to complain about him all the time till I realised that rugby league isn’t all about superstars - ITS ABOUT EVERYONE! |

No, he doesn't want to be all by his self. |

I think part of the problem with Bailey is that people expected so much more of him when he first came into the team. These days he's a solid, dependable pro, the likes of which every team needs, but a lot of people had very high hopes for him back in 2003 (ish) and thought he'd be a GB regular by now. |
