Post subject:  Help The Oldies 2

... And another one bugging me is I seem to remember one match at Headingley in the 80's where on the right wing Leeds played a black guy...with just ONE arm ???? My bro thinks I was p**sed ..help !! Save my sanity somebody.

i've seen quite a few players over the years who tackle and catch like they only have one arm :wink:

ithere was once a player a forward who played for sheffield eagles who had a slightly disabled arm .
i think he came from queens arlfc

Correct. IIRC it was Derek Bridgeman.

He played for Sheffield against Leeds in the cup back in the mid 80s.

A young Sam Panapa also played for Sheffield. Leeds won 50-2.

Bridgeman played on the left wing with Daryl Powell as his centre. Panapa partnered ex Leeds colt Mark Gamson in the halves and a certain Gary Hetherington was the Sheffield hooker, CEO, kit man, water carrier and coach driver that day.
