We are clearly missing something here. Tom Burgess has said " So that's one thing I look for in a club, I want to get there, I want to get to those finals and bring silverware back to where it should be, the birthplace of rugby league". And we were thinking he only went there for the money and a 3 year contract no other team was prepared to offer!

Burgess may go OK in 2025, but even that's not locked in at his age. I'd rather not take a gamble on a 33-year old prop on a big money long term contract.
Glad Newman has signed an extension. The only issue I have is the suggestion that there was ever much NRL interest in him. There would have been a few clubs willing to give him a go in the reserves, but I'd bet there was never a big money deal in the offing, partly due to his injuries, and partly due to the generally dire performance of British outside backs in the NRL. He could change that if he becomes the star everyone wants him to be. First step is to stay injury free....

A few on here were gunning for Watson as Leeds coach when he was at Salford….
Glad Harry has re-signed. He looks in good condition this year and he’s still only young. He’ll be thinking of going to NRL in his prime when he’s 25/26 I’m guessing.
Meanwhile we have other good centres coming through and they’ll benefit from another couple of years to mature.
It’s just the balance of managing pro senior players with the upcoming talent as ever: Simpson is going to need chances over the next 1-2 years for example.

We seem to be very good at producing back rows and outside backs. Front row has been the problem recently - hopefully TNW can buck that trend. And of course, young half back talent is like rocking horse poop in this country.

I agree he'll be nearly 36 when his deal finishes on a large salary not for me.

Not me, I don't rate him, seems to always be moaning and blaming everyone else but himself when the chips are down, not sure those qualities are great for a coach to instil into players
