I'm sure he'll do well for them if he can steer clear of injuries as he approaches his mid 30's. To be honest though I prefer us to spend our big money on genuine game breaker. Half Back (Croft) vs Prop (Burgess) is a no brainer for me. It looks increasingly like Martin will depart for the NRL so a big prop similar to Amone at Leigh would do the job at about a quarter of the cost.

They must have thrown a lot of money at him. I imagine quite a few clubs would of been interested, can’t think of any reasons to go to Hudds other than the money

Given the culture change and new players brought in he was happy to stay as it feels like a ‘re-set’ and ‘fresh start’ and he is desperate to win trophies at Leeds
To be fair to you Newman pretty much says in his interview he thought a change of club might have been the right thing for him and it was the changes at the club which swayed his decision

Agree. To make any sense (for 3 years) he would have to arrived to play in 24 not 25. The optimum year would have been 23 but he clearly wanted to be at the Bunnies, and in fact was restating his desire to stay there only last week. Good luck to Huddersfield and good luck to him, but on balance I'm glad we haven't splashed big money on a prop who'll be 33 by the time he's played 6 games for them.

Rumour doing the rounds is Tom Johnstone will sign for either Wakefield if they invest in more players or HKR to replace Ryan Hall. Would have liked him at Leeds for 2025 to replace Fusitua.

I think he would have wanted, Bunnies, Leeds and then Warrington before Huddersfield. He has been fantastic but his best days are behind him . When he plays he will be good at least for the first year but after that ? Much rather we spend the money on keeping the Leeds youth than an old prop even though he was a Leeds fan.
