However realistically they aren't going to be an option. If Leeds were to offer him a deal to the end of the season they would probably get him unless Fev is more appealing to him.

Fev have splashed the cash recently, not sure how much more they have to spend and would Brian Mc take him? Personally I doubt it.

As for Leigh it does feels like a match

I thought Fev could be an option originally but I’d imagine there are two potential sticking points there, even if you take money out of the equation. The World Cup is obviously on the horizon and if Zak has any slim hopes of making it, he needs to be playing super league in his primary position, I’d say Leeds give him the best chance to do that. Second issue at Fev could be Mac. For all his achievements it’s clear the man is as stubborn as they come. If he still holds a grudge for how things finished with Zak he won’t end up at Fev.

On one hand I aren’t surprised Leigh have made a big money offer, it’s very much how they operate, but on the other their two big off season signings were Caeleb Aekins who plays fullback and nene macdonald who has been playing centre. Granted they could shuffle either of those onto the wing or there’s the other centre slot but it’s not as clear cut and opportunity as he’s likely to get at Leeds at the minute I reckon. I would also assume their deal would be heavily backloaded based on the hope they get promotion?

Leaving Wigan to go back to Yorkshire and ending up in Leigh is like leaving Lancashire to go back to Australia and ending up in Yorkshire, it will never happen.

No that’s why they’ve offered such a good deal! Wouldn’t be the first time a player feels less homesick suddenly. Joel Moon swapped Salford for Belle Isle (he thought it was Bondi!)

No way Fev could afford Zak mate….

Given his history I doubt he’s going to be in a position to demand the same big bucks and should be grateful if there is a club prepared to ‘rescue his career’ for the umpteenth time as otherwise he’s on the scrap heap.

If Zak has any ambition at all to be an England player he simply can’t sign for Leigh.

Forgot they’ve just signed Kerrelliah (probably spelt that wrong) so probably less likely too
