Controversial, but we could bench McLelland instead of Dwyer for this one. He could cover hooker at a pinch, and otherwise come in to the halves to add a bit of spark if needed. You could push Sutcliffe back to second row or loose to spell Merrin.

Can't see the point of that move Dwyer still deserves to play though just not starting, Mclelland isn't an impact player and not a 9 so either start him or leave him out. Also dont like the plan b of swapping the halves around mid game, you end up with neither one thing or the other. My guess is you go with Sutcliffe and he does nothing to contribute to that position and you gain nothing, Mclelland will certainly add no less than Sutcliffe and it's a good bet he'd add more.

Hate to say it but Sutcliffe probably has to stay in the side to cover injuries at centre or FB.
Toss up between Donaldson and Smith for final bench spot, but probably Donaldson because he works his socks off in D and is pretty solid.
Wonder if we’ll see Ward or Crosby before season end.
Ideally, I wouldn’t have Sutcliffe anywhere near my 17, but like you say, he’s got the universal factor about him for this one.
I couldn’t kick Dwyer out of the 17, for his sheer determination alone. A fast, fresh 9 of the bench running at that Hull pack could be a big advantage.

I don't think Agar will do that.I would start McLelland and if it's not working move Sutty to 7.i think he'll play safe like as all coaches do and start Sutty. If he does then I doubt McLelland will be on the bench
I'm not a pheasant plucker, i'm a pheasant pluckers son and i'm only plucking pheasants till the pheasant plucker comes.

Difficult selection but it’s a good problem for Agar. He’ll go with whoever trains best.
Not sure it's a good problem - our starting 7, who's hopeless, is banned and we have no obvious replacement...? We get to choose between a promising youngster who hasn't kicked on, an erratic hooker or a 'utility' player who is ineffective or worse in each position he plays.
