The ultimate irony is that Dougie Laughton admitted that Irving was never a target in the first place, it was Neil Summers (went on to play for the Bulls, or was it Northern?) and Eggbox only got signed 'cos he had the game of his life. He could kick goals mind...
I don;'t think Irving was a Laughton signing, much earlier but your story is one I heard nonetheless.

Quote:Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.

Yup, it was the one before Laughton, it was David Ward that originally signed Irving from Headingley RU having gone to watch Neil Summers. True story apparently if you can believe the YEP.

I'd be gutted to loose Kylie but i can see it happening. We have the young kid in Ambler coming through and if Eastwood gets here for next season we have size in the pack (just give him a Greggs loyalyty card).

As for Smith I really dont want to see him go. If Donald is to leave this year (is he out of contract this term or next year?) I would like to think Smith will take over for him on the wing

Is that anything like the American that bought London Bridge thinking it was Tower Bridge?

Well, the players were different in style but neither turned out to be a lemon so it was all good really. Two fewer RU players is always a plus.

Kylie has been a superb signing for Leeds, hard to imagine Leeds would want to lose him tbh.
