Chaplins was the one, opposite the shop on the corner with arguably the strangest stock combination, gas fires and swimming trunks!
Seem to remember going to plalce called 'Baccus' round the back by the bowling alley. Bertie Wooster's at the other end with the wonderfully named 'Sin Bin Crew' scrawled on the side (was there for years).

No one ever stopped the church by pulling down the steeple,
You'll never beat the system by bombing number 10,
Systems aren't just made of bricks, they're also made of people,
You may send them into hiding but they'll be back again

It doesnt feel right

When it opened it prided itself on being a non smoking bar with quality lagers

now its a bar with very expensive lagers

Hi Mate, we have just joined the Leeds West Riding Cricket League division two - and yes we are interested in hearing from any players looking to join a new club.

PM me or get in touch via the clubs website if you are interested.

Did they try and sell you a gas fire to go with it?

Leeds Rhinos? 8 for you, Leeds Rhinos! You go, Leeds Rhinos.

And none for Castleford Tigers. Bye!

No, but it was the late 80's, around the time of my 18th, so my figure was somewhat different to now. Suffice to say, the trunks were a slightly different style to what I'd wear to swim in these days.

Black Dog, Fisherman's Hut, Prospect etc?

Some quality rugby teams used to play out of those pubs as well.

Quote:Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.
