Exactly. The Villa players hated him by the end as well.
Even his success at Rangers wasn't all that. Yes, he won the league, but he was up against Neil Lennon's Celtic, and lost in the cups to St Mirren and St Johnstone. Even Van Bronckhorst got further in the Euorpa league the following season.
Corberan is relatively experienced compared to the likes of Gerrard and Parker. He's punched above his weight at Huddersfield, and he did a great job at one of the biggest clubs in the league in West Brom. He isn't Bielsa, but that's good. His teams are fit, solid and hard to beat, and keep the ball really well, and attack with pace.
I'd want Rodgers ideally, but realistically, Corberan is the smart choice.

The only reason you would want Gerrard for me is that he has a knack of being able to get hold of ex-Liverpool players and bigger names - cant see that counting for anything when they have to drop into the championship.

Hmmm would have thought it would be quite easily done seeing as they've been on board in a significant way for 3 years already.. clock is ticking.. best players will be getting tapped up.. Adams Gnonto Summerville Rodrigo etc

Let`s face it if there`s an easy way or a hard way to do things at ER we will always do it the hard way. Why should we expect anything different this time?
