Manly can’t take Bateman as don’t have space on the cap - not sure who mentioned we might be in for Bateman a while ago but does feel like that info could play out to be correct
Rumoured to Hull too - but I cannot see him staying in the UK, with his Mrs being in Australia
Depends on if he can get another club in Aus. He's on a big salary and although Wests are willing to pay a chunk of it for a superleague club I doubt they will be as keen to do so for another NRL team. I suppose its down to what level he wants to play at and balancing that against his family life in the short term. He might just take the money for the next 2 years and go to the beach!
Bateman’s career has been a bit of a mess in recent years. He’s looked poor for Wests and was at best OK at Wigan, that is probably generous considering the coin he was on.
A friend of mine who used to be at Bradford and played with Sam Burgess thought he would go back to Wire and Leeds had no chance.
Brisbane also rumoured.
I did notice though that Bentley was training in a top with 18 on the back , so maybe …., who knows

I may be 90% cabbaged Vic, but hopefully can still distinguish between letters and numbers. On rhinos site, scroll down the news until the article on Langley, Bentley on there ,
They've beaten the odds in what they've achieved on the field and credit to Salford there but how can they be a viable club financially when they rely so heavily on supporter donations and selling their assets and are still in trouble.

Really feel for their supporters who may not be great in terms of numbers, but certainly are in the terms of the backing they give their club. This seems to be a yearly occurrence and you wonder how long the other clubs will think it is tenable. On a practical and selfish note I'm not sure we'd have the cap space to land Watkins should he even be amenable to such a move.

None of the teams in the league are financially viable. Salford's problem is they don't have anyone able to plug the gap.
Let all the doubters keep doubting and those who believe keep believing.
We’re only interested in those in the bubble. Anyone who wants to come in the bubble, you can come in.
