He’s clearly a good ‘coach.’ It seems to me a lot of individuals in the squad, especially the younger end have improved under him. The likes of Walters, Holroyd, McDonnell, O’Conner, Johnson and even Roberts, who looked nowhere near first team level to start the year have all improved as individuals.
What I’m maybe starting to question is whether he’s ‘head coach’ material, certainly with the current level of support. He just can’t seem to pull us together as a team consistently. Yes some of that’s also falls on the inconsistent individuals we have in the squad.
I actually think he could do with a really strong second in command with some head coach experience.
That’s a good point I think Craig Lingard from Batley would be great in that role, he’s gone to Cas though I think

Thought id have s look at the 2015 1-17, looking at it its blatantly obvious that our squad today just isn’t good enough. I think theres maybe only Mitch Achurch that would lose his spot to a current 1-17 this year.
1. Hardaker 2. Briscoe 3. Callim Watkins 4. Joel Moon 5. Ryan Hall 6. Danny Mcguire 7. Rob Burrow 8. Kylie Leuluiai 9. Paul Aiton 10. Jamie Peacock 11. JJB 12. Carl Ablett 13. Kevin Sinfield

Indeed. Just look at the quality academy produced players in that group sprinkled with some very astute overseas talent like Aiton, Moon, Delaney, Cuthbo, Leuluiai

Worth noting that Aiton and Moon were overseas via SL as well. That’s something else we haven’t got right recently and there’s no excuse for not having scouted them properly.

Correct, the club and fans should be grateful for Caddick and GH for rescuing them when the club was in a desperate situation. Unfortunately GH has to accept this unfolding disaster has occurred mostly under his watch. Can’t blame Caddick he has his hands full running his large and highly successful business. When you look at the quality in the side Christopher has highlighted and compare with recent sides, it shows just how much we have fallen by the wayside. Sadly we don’t seem to have any players in the squad who can get a grip of the situation. In the past Sinfield and Peacock would sort things out on the pitch. Depressingly the squad is so poor it won’t be a quick fix up it could take several years.

Yep. It's like night and day. The real game breakers in that team (and there are four or five) are English. The quota spots are good/very good players but some are at the veteran stage. Now we are in the situation where we are casting around the NRL for players we hope are going to transform us, which is a risky and short term approach.
It's just all a bit sht isn't it and it seems to be copounded with the silence from the club. Like it's not happening. Now I know people clamour for a GH email, but lying in 9th with little to no recruitment activity and big questions about whether we can get out of this hole the club do need to communicate with it's major stakeholders, the supporters, as any business would.

Looking at the remaining fixtures I can’t see us winning at Hull and Catalan. The Wigan game also looks a likely loss . Be ironic if the cas game was crucial to cas staying up. They would certainly come with all guns blazing. So potentially we could finish well down the table, coming the season after a grand final appearance it’s diabolical.
RS approach just seems all over the place, from early season short kick offs, attacking high up the pitch, 'staying connected' when defending over line speed, no kick pressure to the very conservative predictable stuff yesterday with limited ball movement and offloads.
When we have got it right it's been somewhere in the middle. He just doesn't seem to know how he wants to play or experiments with approaches that then don't work and as a result we look schizophrenic.
And rather than matt shaw going with his more strongly worded pieces on leeds live about leeds' plight, how about actually putting some more searching questions to RS in these press conferences.
